Hi Julene! It could definitely melt the chocolate, if you held it in one place very long. As long as the chocolate is cold to begin with, and they keep the heat on low and kept the gun moving at all times (never leaving it in one spot for seconds at a time), it would probably work. The heat gets really hot, like a paint stripper. Start the gun on low until you get familiar with it so you won’t burn a whole in the PVC, which is easy to do on high. If you have more questions, please call Customer Care at 1-800-547-9727 and they will be happy to help.

If you use the heat gun on a shrink wrap that holds chocolate will it melt the chocolate inside or is the heat coming out of the gun not hot enough? Thank you.

Does it really take 1:26 min. to shrink the band to fit? Will a chocolate covered product melt?

Eileen, I don’t think a hair dryer will get hot enough to shrink these bands. Did you know that you can buy the gun without purchasing the whole shrink system?

Great having video to watch and see how shrink band is applied
with a heat gun
My question is can a hair dryer be used instead?
Since my company is small and just starting out, we don’t want
to pay for heat gun just yet.
Thanks for the info.
